In 1858, the year Minnesota became a state, Baar Starkson arrived. As one of the first settlers in Olmsted County, he bought the land and built the farm. We have a picture dated 1865 showing the completed house and looking much the same as it does today. The Starkson home became a welcoming place for new families moving to the area. Today, we continue that tradition by welcoming guests to visit, sit on the front porch, and relax.
As you shop in the vintage brick Garten Haus, you'll find bits of charm everywhere you look and they all have a story to tell. We work hard to keep the heritage alive in a modern and unique way.
We've been here for over 25 years and always look forward to our parking lot being full. We enjoy visiting with and getting to know you and your family. After all, we are a family owned and operated business.
